第十三天 靈修──Day 13 devotional “All things new”

這個對比令人矚目。
嬰兒在飼料槽裡，出生在馬棚的牲畜當中，祂緊張的年輕父母崇拜祂。
不公正地被定罪的罪犯，被毆打得幾乎讓人認不出來，赤裸地掛在十字架上，面前是嘲笑祂的人群，冷酷的士兵為祂的衣服賭博。
坐在寶座上的大能之王。
祂不僅僅是君王那麼簡單。這位王“被稱為信實和真實，在公義中他審判並爭戰”（啟示錄19:11）。這位王“要用全能神的烈怒踹踏神的酒榨”（啟示錄19:15）。“他的袍子和大腿上有一個名字寫著，萬王之王、萬主之主”（啟示錄19:16）。
這是一位會擦去所有人眼淚的君王，祂會終結悲傷、哀哭、痛苦，甚至死亡（啟示錄21:4）。還有哪位王能做到這一點呢？
正如經文所預言的那樣，這位君王曾是十字架上的罪犯，是馬槽中的嬰兒。天使加百列曾向瑪利亞宣告：“祂要作雅各家的王，直到永遠，祂的國沒有窮盡”（路加福音1:33）。
這位王要使一切都變成新的。正如使徒保羅所說：“若有人在基督裡，他就是新造的人，舊事已過，都變成新的了”（哥林多後書5:17）。
這是一位不排除任何人但不強迫任何人的王。C.S. 魯益師說：“到最後，只有兩種人：那些對上帝說‘願你的旨意成就’的人，和那些到最後上帝對他們說‘願你的旨意成就’的人。”
這位王來，使一切都變成新的了。祂是為了所有人而來的。
禱告
主耶穌，惟獨你是配得的。你是我的王，是我的主。我們讚美你，因為你使一切都變成新的。

Day 13 devotional “All things new”
The juxtaposition is striking.
The baby in a feeding trough, born amid farm animals, adored by his nervous young parents.
The unjustly condemned criminal, beaten until he was hardly recognizable, hanging naked on a cross in front of a mocking crowd, with callous soldiers gambling over his clothing.
The mighty King on his throne.
And not just any king. This King “is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war” (Revelation 19:11). This King “will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty” (Revelation 19:15). “On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords” (Revelation 19:16).
This is a King who will wipe away every tear, who will end mourning and crying and pain and even death (Revelation 21:4). What other king could do that?
As the Scriptures foretold, this King was the criminal on the cross, the baby in the feeding trough. The angel Gabriel had announced it to Mary: “He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end” (Luke 1:33).
This King would make all things new. As the apostle Paul put it: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
This is a King who excludes no one but doesn’t force himself on anyone. C.S. Lewis said, “There are only two kinds of people in the end: Those who say to God, ‘Thy will be done,’ and those to whom God says, in the end, ‘Thy will be done.’”
This King came to make all things new. And he came for all people.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, you alone are worthy. You are my King, you are my Lord. We praise you that you make all things new.
