第九天 靈修──Day 9 devotional “All the earth“

在舊約眾先知中，沒有人比以賽亞更多地談到將來要來的彌賽亞。
“所以，主自己要給你們一個兆頭，必有童女懷孕生子，給他起名叫以馬內利。”（以賽亞書 7:14）。
“因有一嬰孩為我們而生；有一子賜給我們。政權必擔在他的肩頭上；他名稱為奇妙策士、全能的上帝、永在的父、和平的君。”（以賽亞書 9:6）。
“從耶西的本必發出一條，從他根生的枝子必結果實。耶和華的靈必住在他身上，就是使他有智慧和聰明的靈，謀略和能力的靈，知識和敬畏耶和華的靈。”（以賽亞書 11:1-2）。
“看哪，我的僕人——我所扶持所揀選，心裡所喜悅的！我已將我的靈賜給他，他必將公理傳給外邦。”（以賽亞書 42:1）。
以賽亞在第11章專門談到“耶西的本”，這是指大衛王的父親，將是彌賽亞的祖先。他緊接著在第12章以一首喜樂的歌來發出贊美：“主耶和華是我的力量，是我的詩歌……你們要向耶和華唱歌，因祂所行的甚是美好；……當揚聲歡呼。”
他明確表示，這不僅僅是為以色列傳達的信息。它也是給“眾民”（42：6）和“天下”的（12：5）。以賽亞知道他的信息最終是給所有人的。

Day 9 devotional “All the earth“
Of all the Old Testament prophets, none had more to say about the coming Messiah than Isaiah.
“Therefore, the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and you shall call his name Immanuel”(Isaiah 7:14).
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace”(Isaiah 9:6).
“There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots shall bear fruit. And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord”(Isaiah 11:2).
“Behold my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen, in whom my soul delights; I have put my Spirit upon him; he will bring forth justice to the nations”(Isaiah 42:1).
Isaiah devotes Chapter 11 to the “stump of Jesse,” a reference to the father of King David, who was to be the Messiah’s ancestor. He immediately follows in Chapter 12 with an ecstatic song of praise: “The Lord God is my strength and my song. … Sing praises to the Lord, for he has done gloriously. … Shout and sing for joy.”
He makes it clear that this isn’t just a message for Israel. It’s for “the peoples” (verse 43). It’s for “all the earth” (verse 5). Isaiah knew his message was ultimately for everyone.
By the grace of God, TWR is able to use media to go to some of the world’s most difficult places. We do this because the message Isaiah foretold wasn’t just for the Jews, nor is it just for Western Europeans or North Americans. It’s for all the peoples in all the earth.
