K: Obi-Wan Kenobi /

K: Obi-Wan Kenobi

In the Star Wars films, Obi-wan Kenobi is a legendary Jedi Master. He is calm and collected, wise and noble – he is definitely a legend of all legends. In four of the Star Wars films, this character is a perfect example of what a good role model should be like. Obi-Wan Kenobi is a great Jedi Master, Qui-Gon Jinn”s disciple. He mentored both father and son, Anakin Skywalker and Luke Skywalker. He took the wisdom that he learned and helped his disciples to find their confidence in facing the dangers of the world.

In the New Testament of the Bible, Apostle Paul is like Obi-Wan Kenobi, the perfect Jedi Master. Paul has an impressive background: he was strictly educated in the Jewish law as a pupil of Gamaliel who was a Pharisee doctor of Jewish Law; he was well-established in the art of speech and he was zealous for God. After being confronted by Jesus while he was on his way to Damascus, Paul become a changed man and began spreading the Gospel to the Gentiles. Paul went on three life-risking missionary journeys and was eventually imprisoned by the Romans. In his second missionary journey, he met young Timothy and brought him along with him until his imprisonment. Under Paul”s supervision, Timothy was trained to become the successor of the apostle. Paul relentlessly helped train Timothy”s leadership skills so that he could lead the Church and further the Gospel ministry.

Paul is a fearless role model who helped spread the Gospel, leaving an influence to many generations to follow. As a believer of Jesus Christ, have you started training your successor to further the Gospel mission?
